Maslow's Hierarchy of needs

In Maslow's Hierarchy of needs pyramid, the basic needs are food, drink, shelter, and air. The basic needs are very important to everyone. No one can live without these needs. unforuntely, not all people have basic needs today.

There are so many people who are homeless and who struggle to get just one meal. According to the medical research, to stay healthy we need atleast three meals and two snacks. I can't even imagine being homeless.

I can't stay without one meal and those people only one meal. I sympathize with them and I want to pray for them. I want to help them anyway I can. At my church, we donate food and clothes to homeless people.

I try to participate in the activites that are for homeless people. I know how they feel bacause i get headache if i skip one meal of the day. I used to skip breakfast and I used to get headache everyday.

My doctor told me that if i skip one meal then my blood sugar goes low and that's what make me get headache. I think that's why homeless people can't think of anything else except for food because they don't feel well. Their body is not in condition to think of anything else.

I can't contol my hunger. If I am hungry then I have to eat something otherwise I would start feeling sick. I can't imagine how homeless people live feeling sick almost everyday. I would to participate in any kind of activites that help homeless people.

Service Learning Pre-flection

I'm looking forward to go to capuchins Earthworks. I think we are going to do gardening. we'll plant fruits and vegetables. I love to plant trees.

I'm daughter of farmer so I do have some experience in Gardening. This agency does a lot of other community services too. This agency has a kitchen too.

I'm going to learn about plants and how to plant vegetables. If we work in the other area or department then we might serve meals or assist in the kitchen.

There is another thing that I like about this agency that we can donate online or sent a donation throw a mail. I think people who don't have time to go to the place and help can donate money online.

This agency has special gifts for special occasions like toys for christmas and dinner for thanksgiving. I think after helping in the capuchin earthworks, I'm going to be proud of myself because I helped.
